As Denver Water pushes forward a plan to expand the Gross Dam, they have continuously disregarded the concerns of Boulder County residents. This project will have a tremendous environmental, traffic, and recreational impact on land and people around the Gross Dam.

Over seven years of construction, this expansion will damage sensitive and protected wetlands, habitats, and forest ecosystems across Boulder, Gilpin and Jefferson, Counties. It will require clear-cutting more than 200,000 trees, and cause toxic chemicals and construction by-products to enter our land, air, and water. In short, this will be the largest and most expensive construction project in Boulder County’s history.

Meanwhile, Boulder County will receive no potable drinking water from the expansion.
